With the support from UNDP and Biodiversity Conservation Fund, Morobe Development Foundation is carrying out a project to develop the capacity of the local indigenous people of Lababia where the Kamiali Wildlife Management is located. The project strives to involve local communities to be involved in fishing activities which will benefit them and in that regard, MDF is looking to collaborate with online volunteers in developing a fishing business plan for the local community. The project is inline with MDFs vision and objective to support community development projects in Papua New Guinea and help to realize the UN sustainable development goals.

MDF is seeking the support of three (3) online volunteers to conduct research and develop a business plan for a community located in Huon Gulf District, Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea. The idea is to harvest fish using outboard motors and store using solar powered eskies and transport and sell it to major supermarkets and restaurants in Lae City. The tasks involve researching, writing and editing where the selected three online volunteers will be assigned for each of the task respectively. The online volunteers will need to find reference and adapt a successful fishing business idea from a country which has a similar features and environment like Papua New Guinea.

At the end of the assignment, the online volunteers will be awarded with certificate through the UNV and referenced by MDF accordingly when contacted by other organizations or Universities.

The candidate must have a Degree in Business Development and Management. PhD and Masters Students majoring in Business Studies are encouraged to apply.
