  • Excellent command of English - fluency (level C) in oral and written English is essential.
  • Fluency in other WFP languages (especially French, Spanish, or Arabic) is a plus.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

The Workforce Planning & Strategy Branch is the center of expertise for Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) in WFP supporting Functions and Country Offices to proactively plan for their medium to long-term workforce needs against strategic priorities.

SWP enables WFP to purposefully plan for, manage and prepare its future workforce to respond effectively to the increasing demands of the organisation within a globally complex environment. SWP focuses on partnering with various stakeholders such as WFP’s management, functional areas subject matter experts, HR colleagues and an external vendor to implement it across the organization on all levels.

ROLE OF THE CONSULTANT:

This role is based in WFP’s HR department in the Workforce Planning and Strategy Team supporting the design, delivery and monitoring of workforce plans across global, functional as well as country office level. This position supports data analytics activities related to Strategic Workforce Planning across WFP. The role utilises a Strategic Workforce Planning technological platform to conduct advanced analysis to help WFP make better decisions about the future of its workforce by generating insights and actions from complex data. Under the direct leadership of the Lead Data Analyst, the role works in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like WFP, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following accountabilities:

ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES****:

  1. Support the coordination and streamlining of the collection, interpretation and validation of workforce data and its in-depth analysis ensuring that quality standards and data privacy compliance are maintained throughout the process
  2. Assess and analyse data and indicators connected to internal workforce supply and future demand for talent for the organisation based on the strategic direction
  3. Support the identification and application of possible future scenarios to derive insights into the implications of these on the workforce
  4. Produce analysis and visualizations to create and deliver effective presentations to key stakeholders on Strategic Workforce Planning outcomes to enable insight-driven choices.
  5. Act as the Subject Matter Expert for the strategic workforce planning technological platform and support the capacity building of HR/functional areas focal points to effectively enable the delivery of SWP across WFP
  6. Understand the process of data integration: including workforce data from central systems such as a common ERP system and other HR applications
  7. Develop and nurture strong partnerships across the organisation to deliver complex messages and insights on Strategic Workforce Planning and address questions or problems
  8. Generate innovative ideas and solutions that improve WFP’s ability to delivery Strategic Workforce Planning
  9. Other, as required

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Education:

University Degree in Statistics, Economics, Business Administration, Human Resources or other related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in data analytics and reporting
  • At least 1 years of international experience either working abroad or in an international environment
  • Experience in Human Resources and Strategic Workforce Planning desirable

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proven excellent MS Excel skills including building pivot analysis, charting, formulas, v-lookups, VBA, data validation and data visualization
  • Knowledge of Power Query is a plus
  • Experience in the use of Python is a plus
  • Experience in the use of Tableau is a plus
  • Proficiency in other MS Office applications (Word, Power Point, Outlook)

Language:
