Contingent Owned Equipment (COE) Assistant

Eligibility criteria
Minimum age: 25 years old. Nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters duty stations.
Description of task
Under the direct supervision of the Chief, Contingent Owned Equipment, the duties of the Contingent Owed Equipment (COE) Assistant will include but are not limited to the following:
- Serves as point of contact for contingent personnel on daily matters;
- Conducts arrival, operational readiness, repatriation and other periodic inspections of formed units to verify by physical inspection that the troop contributing country or police contributing country of the United Nations are in compliance with their agreed responsibilities as detailed in the MOU;
- Raises inspection verification reports in eCOE database and processes them for approval by the chief, COE Unit;
- Provides advise to formed units and the mission on all COE/MOU related matters including recommendations as to how non-compliance with the MOU, by either party may be rectified;
- Maintains, within eCOE database, inventories of COE held by all assigned formed units;
- Oversees issuance of all UN owned equipment and UN provided services to assigned formed units and reflects impacts on self-sustained categories in verification reports;
- Participates as required, in pre-deployment visits to TCC /PCC to assist TCC/PCC to prepare formed units for deployment to field missions;
- Maintains assigned portion of the COE database in the COE unit;
- When working with (including supervising) national staff or (non-)governmental counterparts, including Implementing Partners (IPs), the incumbent is strongly encouraged to set aside dedicated time for capacity development through coaching, mentoring and formal and on-the-job training; and
- Any other duties as requested by the supervisor.
Qualifications/Requirements
Required degree level:
Master degree or equivalent

Required experience:
36 Months
Experience remark:
3 years of experience in logistics management. Previous military or police career and experience in COE management is an added advantage
Language skills:
- English(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
- French(Mandatory), Level - Working Knowledge
