How can you make a difference?

The Regional Services - Human Resources Section, UNICEF East Asia and Pacific Regional Office (EAPRO) is seeking an individual consultant to provide workshops, facilitated discussions, training, and/or podcasts on Diversity and Inclusion topics, either face-to-face or during travel restrictions virtually, that will help staff to improve their understanding of the importance of Diversity and Inclusion to the workplace.

Work Assignment:

Conduct an online workshop via zoom or other similar stable online learning delivery product (consultant's own license). Software must be compatible with UNICEF computers and accessible by all participants. Using various teaching methodologies, organize and deliver online workshops to strengthen the Diversity and Inclusion understanding and approach of participating staff members.

Topics could include but are not limited to:

    • Intro to Diversity and Inclusion / Microaggressions
    • Psychological safety
    • Inclusive communication
    • Unconscious biases
    • Neurodiversity, minds of all kinds
    • Power and privilege
    • Inclusive design
    • Diversity and Inclusion in recruitment, performance, inclusive communication and HR
    • Introduction to LGBT+ Allyship
    • Workplace Allyship
    • Inclusive Leadership

Develop a final report after each workshop with recommendations for participant's continued improvement.

Develop a podcast series interviewing staff with disabilities. This will be in a format compatible with UNICEF computers and Regional HR staff will make it available for staff on the Regional HR's MS. SharePoint page.

End Product(s):

  • Design and delivery of agreed upon workshops in consultation with the office. Duration of each session will be 2 hours followed by collection of feedback and providing feedback to the office
  • Podcast series of at least 3 sessions. The podcast duration would be 30 minutes and recording should be compatible with UNICEF computers and Microsoft SharePoint

Duration of Contract: 13 September 2021 – 13 February 2022 (5 months)

Working Location: The consultant will work remotely in his/her own premises but will regularly report to the supervisor. All office supplies and materials will be provided by the Consultant.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Minimum 8 years' experience as a trainer of high-quality international standard in the relevant areas
  • Previous Diversity and Inclusion instruction/ Workshop facilitation experience as an expert
  • Previous experience with working within UN system in the relevant field
  • Experience delivering in an On-line environment to adult-learners in a professional setting

Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
