Morobe Development Foundation's goals and objectives is to support community projects to develop communities in Papua New Guinea, and one of the pipeline project is to build a classroom for an elementary school in Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea. The building of a classroom is necessary to encourage all students to be active participants in their learning. The classroom provides a unique environment for students to experience peer relationships and create their own community of learning.
To that end, MDF is seeking the support of online volunteers in reviewing and provide constructive feedback and edits the proposal for the above initiative. The contribution by the online volunteers will ensure a quality proposal is developed before submission to the donor agencies. The project will impact the success of students. A sense of community and positive classroom climate are related to student learning, persistence, and satisfaction. It will help to promote understanding and cooperation among the community for the present and the future. It will also help to create peace through understanding and respect for individual differences. A community with high rates of education completion have lower crime rate, better overall health and civic involvement.
Similarly, the project is also in line with MDFs community development initiatives aimed at improving the quality of living of the rural communities in Papua New Guinea which is also inline with and UN Sustainable Development Goals 4. Quality Education.
The task involves reviewing, editing and providing recommendation to improve the proposal which is to build a classroom for elementary school in Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea. The selected online volunteers will communicate directly with the focal parson of MDF, who will provide them with the detail guidelines and the required template and all the necessary information to enable volunteers collectively work to develop the proposal.
Volunteers will receive a certificate of appreciation from the UNV upon completion of the task.
The ideal candidate must have experience in reviewing and editing a proposal. Must have a Degree in Community Development. PhD students in a relevant field are encouraged to apply.
