The UN SDG Action Campaign catalyses advocacy and engagement, bringing together diverse actors and partners. Through compelling, creative SDG outreach and communications strategies, the UN SDG Action Campaign supports and serves UN Member States and the UN system. It links organizations from civil society, local governments, think tanks, the arts and culture, the media, and the business world. It mobilizes individuals to champion the SDGs in homes, communities and beyond. With the pandemic, the Ukrainian war and climate, economic and social disruptions sweeping the globe, 2022 is a pivotal year for transformational changes. This is a once in a generation opportunity to reset and to create a better future.

This September, millions of people across the world will join together, while world leaders meet at the UN General Assembly, to make this a turning point for people and the planet. The Global Week to #ActforSDGs is a global call to people and organizations everywhere in the world to take actions for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

We are seeking creative and ambitious volunteers to help tell the #FlipTheScript story to TikTok’s unique demographic and drive action for the Sustainable Development Goals during the Global Week to #Act4SDGs, 16-25 September 2022. As a volunteer creating content on TikTok, you will have the opportunity to harness the power of creativity and storytelling through videos to spark a positive change in the world. Volunteers will be featured on the @SDGAction TikTok channel.

Those volunteers will make 1-5 TikTok videos/social media posts for the time period leading up to and during the Global Week.

Requirements

Volunteers will be contacted by email and/or video chat to discuss the tasks and the timeline for the coming weeks. The ideal candidates are:

Experienced in TikTok content creation

Aware of best practices for TikTok (including trends, hashtags, functionalities, and music usage)

Excellent at thinking outside the box

Self-sufficient at creating content posting schedules and posting content on time

Have their own computer and stable connection to the internet, as this role is remote

Interested in communication as well as in peace, justice and environmental affairs

Fluent in English (C2 level). Other languages are a strong asset

Available approximately 5-10 hours per week from 20 August – 30 September 2022

All volunteers will be awarded a volunteer appreciation certificate upon successful completion of the assignment.

Create, film, and edit video content to post

Generate ideas for content to post on the official @SDGAction TikTok account

Stay on top of recent platform trends and how they could be used to promote

Understand the UN brand guidelines to ensure content is consistent with the messaging

Use market research to identify content that would perform well with our target audience
