This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.

Eligibility criteria

Minimum age: 22 years old. Applicants must be nationals of or legal residents in the country of assignment.

Description of task

Within the framework of the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Communications and Advocacy Officer of the Resident Coordinator’s Office or their designated representative, the UN Volunteer will carry out the following tasks:

• Support the RCO in the organization and execution of events, launches, campaigns or other key communication activities.

• Assist with the graphic design of inter-agency communication materials for their publication (includes reports, press releases, presentations and others) and distribution.

• Support in the production of graphic and audiovisual content for the System's social networks.

• Support in the management of social network profiles managed by the RCO, which includes: publication of approved content, interaction with profiles of UN Honduras agencies and analysis of social network behavior.

• Collaborate with the UN Honduras Communications Group in the preparation and publication of various types of joint communication products and campaigns.

• Realization of Digital Media Monitoring for RCO.

• Any other activity that is required or assigned by the supervisor for the fulfillment of OCR objectives.

• The United Nations Volunteer should collaborate with the UNV Country Coordinator (Manuel Hernández) to identify / report on possible opportunities for UNV integration with the programs coordinated by the RCO (in particular vertical funds such as SDF, PBF, etc.)

Qualifications/Requirements

Required degree level:

Bachelor degree or equivalent

Education - Additional Comments:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication and advertising, graphic design or similar.

Required experience:

24 Months

Experience remark:

  • At least 2 years of national professional work experience in communications, digital marketing, graphic design or similar.
  • Knowledge in managing virtual conference platforms.
  • Accuracy and professionalism in the production and editing of documents;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; cultural and social sensitivity; ability to work in an inclusive and collaborative way with a variety of stakeholders;
  • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of national and international staff;
  • Solid computer skills, including advanced management of various Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.), video design and editing programs (Adobe Suite, Canva, InShot, etc.) as well as email / internet; familiarity with technological office equipment;
  • Self-motivation, ability to work with minimal supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines;
  • Awareness about security issues;
  • Affinity or interest in social communication and public relations, volunteering as a mechanism for sustainable development and the United Nations System.

Language skills:

  • Spanish(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
  • English(Optional), Level - Working Knowledge
