ABOUT WFP

The United Nations World Food Programme is the world's largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide. The mission of WFP is to help the world achieve Zero Hunger in our lifetimes. Every day, WFP works worldwide to ensure that no child goes to bed hungry and that the poorest and most vulnerable, particularly women and children, can access the nutritious food they need.

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

The National Zero Hunger Strategic Review (NSR) recommendation has stimulated the necessary partnerships to achieve SDG 2, fostering coordination among the Government of Armenia, the donor community, United Nations agencies, beneficiaries, civil society, the private sector, and the diaspora. WFP Armenia will pursue strategic partnerships and joint advocacy efforts with all relevant stakeholders aiming to achieve full implementation of its Country Strategic Plan (CSP) for 2019-2024 as well as diversification of donor base and types of partnerships. The WFP Armenia will develop short and long-term approaches through a whole-of-society approach, targeted at strategic partnerships with WFP's traditional and emerging donors, the Government of Armenia, and complementary partnerships with the private sector, diaspora, and the UN agencies.

Given the above, the WFP Armenia has identified a need for hiring a Business Support Assistant (Partnership) who can be part of the Partnership, Communication, and Reporting team and will contribute to the development of new and existing partnerships including private partnerships to support the implementation of WFP activities, advocate for the work of WFP, and raise and mobilize resources to support WFP's efforts to promote food and nutrition security and achieve zero hunger in Armenia by 2030.
