Your team You will be part of the Data Analytics Domain Services Division in the Directorate General Information Systems. Our Division has around 70 staff members and is responsible for the ECB’s portfolio of data-centric services and applications for the Statistics, Economics and Research business areas, and also for an enterprise data platform that supports data scientists across the ECB. Our focus is on IT services for the collection, processing, analysis and dissemination of data. We are currently working on migrating our IT services to the cloud and modernising the underlying technology stack.

In your role as Business Analysis Specialist, you will be part of one of the product teams responsible for developing, maintaining and operating one of the data-centric services in our Division. Each team is composed of around ten internal and external experts who are passionate about providing our customers with state-of-the-art data and analytics solutions.

Within your product team, you will contribute to software releases by performing detailed user requirements analysis, documenting processes and taking the lead in testing activities. You will also be involved in the day-to-day operations and resolving incidents. You will work very closely with the business team.

Your role As a Business Analysis Specialist you will:

- coordinate cooperation with the project stakeholders (developers and business customers), including leading both alignment and day-to-day activity meetings, taking care of defects follow-up and liaising with other project teams; - analyse and document functional and non-functional business requirements, user stories, etc. by actively liaising with the business team; - support the development team in the creation of technical designs and the business team in reviewing them; - contribute to the end-to-end design and continuous improvement of the service; - coordinate and execute both functional and technical tests; - produce comprehensive test results during test cycles; - liaise with architects and counterparts in other project teams on new solutions for system components that integrate with other systems; - analyse data to effectively troubleshoot issues using technical tools. - We are seeking candidates for this role who demonstrate the potential for growth, and we will support the selected candidates in their future development of the required knowledge, skills or competencies.

Qualifications, experience and skills Essential:

- a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in economics, business administration, computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, statistics or another relevant field (see How you can join us for details on degree equivalences); - in addition to the above, a minimum of 18 months’ experience in the field of business analysis, information management and IT project execution processes; - experience in coordinating the activities of multiple stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery; - excellent drafting skills and the ability to present complex matters simply and clearly; - knowledge of relational databases and the SQL programming language; - an advanced (C1) command of English and an intermediate (B1) command of at least one other official language of the EU, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Desired:

- experience in agile software development; - experience with issue tracking and test execution tools; - knowledge of web services and executing web services calls; - knowledge of cloud infrastructure; - sound communication skills and a good understanding of modern IT architectures.

Further information The contract offered will be fixed-term, the appointment being for 12 months as of the exact starting date of the selected person.

Temporary appointments may be extended or made permanent subject to organisational needs and budgetary constraints. This may result in a staff member with a non-convertible fixed-term contract being offered a convertible contract in accordance with the ECB Conditions of Employment.
