Long Description ---------------- The incumbent will, in particular: - Provide country-context expertise and undertake assignments to reinforce the Communication and Information programme in Palestine by promoting an enabling environment for freedom of expression, press freedom and access to information, and fostering the role of media for development, democracy and dialogue. - Coordinate, strengthen and promote partnership with stakeholders in the area of freedom of expression, press freedom and access to information in Palestine; Maintain multi-stakeholder partnerships with implementing partners such as national media outlets, journalist associations, and civil society organizations; and sustain high-level professional relations with Palestinian counterparts (Government entities). - Prepare and organize consultation meetings, stakeholder meetings and workshops in accordance with programme needs at the national level. - Undertake field missions to monitor and evaluate project activities as required. - Contribute to reports, briefings and public information material related to the Communication and Information activities. - Ensure administrative and financial tasks related to the programme implementation such as drafting briefings/reports, contracts terms of reference, monitor contract implementation including timely reception of deliverables. A first-level degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in the specified fields of studies with two additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree **Work Experience** - A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in implementing projects in the areas of media, communication and information or related field. **Skills/Competencies** - Excellent oral and written communication skills, with proven ability to produce clear, concise and high-quality reports on technical and strategic issues. - Strong analytical, negotiation, communication and advocacy skills. - Excellent inter-personal skills, including the ability to interact with a wide range of stakeholders and to work effectively and respectfully in a multicultural environment. - Strong sense of ethics, integrity, diplomacy, tact and discretion. - Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure, to manage workload and to meet tight deadlines, with the ability to apply flexibility in adjusting work schedules and priorities. - Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office). **Languages** - Excellent knowledge of English, Arabic (spoken and written) **DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS** ---------------------------- - Working experience with an International Organization or UN system **SELECTION AND RECRUITMENT PROCESS** ------------------------------------- Please note that all candidates must complete an on-line application and provide complete and accurate information.
