  1. Role and responsibilities

The Advocacy and communication Intern will be responsible for assisting with advocacy activities, press work, digital and multimedia communications, and administration.

Generic responsibilities

  1. Contribute to developing NRC advocacy and communication strategy, connecting advocacy goals and objectives to NRC country strategy and thematic themes.
  2. Support current efforts to integrate advocacy and communication practices across the NRC department
  3. Promote innovative and creative approaches to develop NRC advocacy and communication product
  4. Support efforts to organise and facilitate international advocacy events
  5. Conduct desk research and analysis, inputting into NRC policy and research.

Specific responsibilities

  • Assist in the development process of NRC Advocacy and communication strategy
  • Facilitate and lead NRC advocacy monthly coordination meetings
  • Maintain regular communication and coordination across NRC field offices' programming and core competencies
  • Support in communication development, using creative ideas to amplify NRC programming
  • Identify and build on NRC Somalia advocacy issues for upcoming policy research opportunities
  • Engage in NRC’s broader global advocacy engagement

  • No work experience is required

Contract period: 2 months with possibilities of extension.
