Grants Accountant

The Role:

Ensure effective Budget management, accurate and timely financial reports for the sub recipients of the World Vision Global Fund Program, and support for the external and internal audits of the grant. In addition, ensure that the sub-recipients asset register is well kept and updated and physical verification of the same done from time to time.

As Principal Recipient for Global Fund TB activities in Somalia; this position ensures that the partners have their capacity assessed before we engage them, continuous identification of capacity building needs and planning capacity building sessions. Ensure, close monitoring of Sub-recipients to ensure continuation of TB activities in Somalia.

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business
  • Professional certificate- CPA or ACCA
  • Should be Computer Literate, Work Well with MS Word, MS Excel and Sun-systems
  • Advanced Excel knowledge will be an added advantage
  • 3 years-experience working in finance and/or grants management
  • Experience working in NGOs preferably international
  • Experience working/managing partners will be an added advantage
  • Experience with financial practices of multilateral organizations e,g UN organizations, USAID, Global Fund
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Ability to communicate well in English (verbal and written)
  • Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Must behave in a professional manner at all times and demonstrate ability to represent the organization at inter agency meetings

Working Environment:

The position will be based in Mogadishu of Somalia.
