Job description

A multitude of innovative ideas in the agri-food sector are waiting to be identified, further developed and implemented. This is what the Fund for the Promotion of Innovation in Agriculture (i4Ag) is working on. On behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and as part of the special initiative "One World Without Hunger", i4Ag identifies and promotes innovations in the agri-food sector within the thematic focus areas digitalization, mechanization, renewable energies, research and advisory services as well as cooperation with the private sector. The promotion of organisational and process innovations in the design and implementation of policy frameworks for the agricultural and food sector form another funding priority of the fund. For particularly promising innovations, we connect partners worldwide and provide suitable funding packages for their development and further development, which we implement within the framework of individual fund measures.

Your tasks

  • Strategic further development and conceptual design of a funding priority on innovations at the political level
  • Analysis, evaluation and co-creation of innovative approaches and ideas in the field of national and international agricultural policy
  • Technical and financial-administrative advice
  • Support and implementation of studies and (online) events for the acquisition of innovation proposals or dissemination and presentation of innovation partnerships in implementation
  • Establishment and expansion of cooperations and networks
  • Contribution to GIZ's community-based knowledge management, structuring of knowledge transfer with cooperation partners and participation in technical and exchange events
  • Technical coordination with the sister project "Fund for Agricultural Policy Advice and Innovations" and support to the component and fund management in the management of the component and the fund

Your profile

  • University degree in social sciences, political sciences, agricultural sciences, rural development, geography or agricultural economics
  • Several years of relevant professional experience, preferably gained abroad, in development cooperation / international cooperation and policy advice in the agricultural and food sector
  • Very good knowledge of international agricultural policy and the design of political processes
  • Experience in coordinating multiple stakeholders and setting up complex coordination systems
  • Excellent organisational, moderation, presentation and communication skills
  • Sound communicative and conceptual skills as well as high cooperation and networking skills
  • Pronounced team skills and high level of personal responsibility
  • Business fluent in German and English, good knowledge of French is an advantage

Notes

This job is suited to a full or a part-time position.

The work location is Bonn or Eschborn.

The willingness for frequent business trips is required.

The willingness to work reciprocally abroad and in Germany is required.
