Overview

Support adolescent development programs through research and operational assistance.

You have:

  • A university degree in one of the following fields is required: anthropology, psychology, sociology, education or another relevant technical field.
  • One year of professional experience in social development planning and management in adolescent development related areas is required.
  • Experience working in a developing country is considered as an asset.
  • Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English is required.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French or Russian) or a local language is an asset.

Contract

This is a NO-1 contract. This kind of contract is known as National Professional Officers. It is normally only for nationals. It's a staff contract. More about NO-1 contracts.

We work throughout Colombia, with special focus on the departments where children have fewer opportunities: Chocó, Cauca, Nariño, Antioquia, Córdoba, Amazonas, Putumayo, La Guajira, Caquetá, Atlántico, Arauca and Norte de Santander.

Purpose of the Position

The Adolescent Development Officer provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process through the application of theoretical and technical skills in researching, collecting, analyzing and presenting technical programme information and learning organizational rules, regulations and procedures, to support the development and formulation of the adolescent development and participation programmes/projects within the Country Programme.

  5. Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building
