This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.

The UN Clinics operate, regarding technical matters only, under the general supervision of the UN Medical Director DHMOSH and with the UNDP Deputy Resident Representative with regards to administrative matters. Under the guidance and direct supervision of the ICT Specialist, the Administrative and Information Technology Assistant provides ICT and administrative support services to the UN Clinic, provides daily technical support to users of information management tools and technology infrastructure. The Administrative and Information Technology Assistant promotes a client-oriented approach. Under the supervision of the Health Manager, the Administrative and Information Technology Assistant is responsible for the management of the day-to-day office activities; works in close collaboration with the UN Clinic, in resolving complex ICT-related issues.

The Administrative and Information Technology Assistant will directly report to the Health Manager in UN Clinic Aden. She/he will be responsible for the following outputs: • Prepare inventory list of all ICT equipment Data network, CCTV, Fire alarm, sound systems, printers too. • Installs and configures equipment and software when there is a need • Provides IT support to UN Clinic office staff and handles minor repairs • Research potential solutions to internal and external clients’ needs and reports back in a timely, succinct, and appropriate manner. • Maintain and manage the general office connectivity and the Local Area network, Wi-Fi network, CCTV, Fire alarm and sound system
• Manage the CCTV system and fire alarm and support the office connections during meetings • Ensures full compliance of ITC rules and procedures for storing and Securing IT equipment, telecommunication, etc. • Maintain and manage a proper back up system of office data • Maintain a proper log system of the office consumables and a report on the acquisi-tion and the usage of these consumables on a constant basis • Work closely with ICT assistant and support Aden Sub-office when needed • Responsible of other duties assign by the supervisor The incumbent of the position should avoid any kind of discriminatory behavior including gender discrimination and ensure that • Human rights and gender equality is prioritized as an ethical principle within all ac-tions. • Activities are designed and implemented in accordance with “Social and Environmen-tal Standards of UNDP”. • Any kind of diversities based on ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, disability, religion, class, gender are respected within all implementations including data production; • Differentiated needs of women and men are considered. • Inclusive approach is reflected within all actions and implementations, in that sense an enabling and accessible setup in various senses such as disability gender language barrier is created. • Necessary arrangements to provide gender parity within all committees, meetings, trainings etc. introduced. Furthermore, UN Volunteers are required to: • Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and take active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark International Volunteer Day). • Be acquainted with and build on traditional and/or local forms of volunteerism in the host country. • Reflect on the type and quality of voluntary action that they are undertaking, includ-ing participation in ongoing reflection activities. • Contribute articles/write-ups on field experiences and submit them for UNV publi-cations/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc. • Assist with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly arrived UN Volunteers. • Promote or advise local groups in the use of online volunteering or encourage rele-vant local individuals and organizations to use the UNV Online Volunteering service whenever technically possible.

• Any Certificates of previous activities relevant to this assignment • Proficiency knowledge of Microsoft Office Software programs (MS Access, MS Excel, MS outlook and MS word desirable), Lotus Notes, Outlook, and Networking experi-ence. • Good practical knowledge of network administration and backup strategies • Experience in the UN or an International humanitarian organization would be an added advantage.

As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. National UN Volunteers are part of the malicious insurance plan.
