Assist with youth programs coordination and administration

You have:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and interest in working with the refugee community
  • Occasional evening or weekend availability
  • Ownership of a car and a valid driver's license and car insurance
  • Willingness to be flexible and accommodating to client needs
  • Ability to converse in a client language is strongly preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Attend Volunteer/Intern Orientation.

- Contribute to the planning and coordination of various activities, such as after-school tutoring, college prep workshops, and monthly outings or field trips. Most work is from 9a-5p, with occasional evenings or weekend activities, or appointments in the early mornings for things such as school bus orientations. - Administrative support (phone calls, filing, data entry, collected signed paperwork, etc.) - Provide transportation for clients and their families to appointments.

· Assist with preschool and school enrollments. Duties include completing school enrollment paperwork, collecting documents, obtaining parental signatures, and delivering forms to schools.

- Be sensitive to the differences of clients. Respect their beliefs and values, which may differ from yours.

· Record hours and submit completed timesheet for each month via the IRC’s online Volunteer Dashboard.

This position is unpaid and reports to the Youth Programs Supervisor.
