The Emergency Operations Division (EME) contributes to WFP’s strategic goal of achieving Zero Hunger by 2030 through the management of an emergency preparedness and response portfolio. EME provides a field-focused, service oriented, steering and convening role focusing on forward looking preparedness and support to ensure a swift, coordinated and integrated response.

Considering our related corporate commitment to support Country Offices and Regional Bureaus with resources, simplified processes, and procedures to address their immediate operational needs, EME Staffing Coordination Team contributes to the design, management, coordination and implementation of emergency preparedness and response operations, facilitating timely, efficient, and effective approaches that are integrated across functions. The Staffing Coordination Team drive the implementation of the HR Alignment exercise and the establishment of EME as a fully functional autonomous division, in Headquarters, Regional Bureaus and Country Offices.

The online volunteer who will support with writing/editing is expected to support the team remotely. Reporting to the Talent Management Officer, the Online Volunteer will support specifically the drafting of job profiles to ensure alignment with the Emergency Operations identity.

The selected Online Volunteer is expected to deliver a professional, client-focused service, partnering with managers to implement solutions in line with WFP corporate priorities. The Online Volunteer will gain knowledge and experience in human resources processes, including SOPs, and documentation standardization.

The Staffing Coordinator Team of the Emergency Operations Division (EME) is looking for one online volunteer to support the team in developing content for the workforce of the Emergency Operations Division The selected candidate will report to the Talent Management Officer and work closely with colleagues in the Staffing Coordination team to collaboratively work towards common goals.

The selected online volunteer is expected to:

• Support content drafting job profiles aligned with Emergency Operations function (Surge, Preparedness and analysis, Operational Access, Operational Response, Global Food Security Cluster). 3 Job Profiles (2 pages) to be drafted for each pillar. First weeks of assignment to be focused on this task. • Support editing and proofreading EME Terms of References (2-3 pages) to ensure alignment with the Emergency Operations function for each pillar upon completion of the assignment.

The candidate should least have three years of experience in information management, reporting, communication, human resources. Candidate should be familiar with carrying out research and assigned topics and transforming that information into a cohesive piece for audience consumption. Candidate should be comfortable with creating content based on assignment briefs and style guides. They should have proven experience delivering high-quality work and keeping to deadlines. In addition, they should be able to take editorial feedback and use it to refine their work. Minimum a bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication, writing and standardization or other relevant fields.
