Breast cancer has become the second highest cause for female death in India. Breast cancer has ranked number one cancer among Indian females with age adjusted rate as high as 25.8 per 100,000 women and mortality 12.7 per 100,000 women. One woman gets diagnosed with breast cancer every 4 minutes in India, and one woman dies of breast cancer every 13 minutes, making it the most prevalent cancer among Indian women. Women in India are generally diagnosed at a later, more advanced stage with poor prognosis. About 1 in 28 women are expected to develop breast cancer during their lifetime. By 2030, breast cancer will cause most deaths among women in India than any other malady. One of the main reasons for huge cancer related mortality in India is 'lack of awareness/knowledge". With this background, we look for volunteers for this assignment.
We are looking for a few volunteers to help us write a grant application on breast cancer. The project concepts are prevention and reference support service. Since it involves capacity building and awareness campaigns, we would be happy to have volunteers with experience in such development activities. The chosen volunteer would be given a pre-formatted form to work on. The task involves, grant application/proposal writing, logframe matrix, and Theory of Change design. The proposal should have valid data reference to justify the need for the grant. The selected volunteers will get guidance in this.
