Job Description

SCOPE OF WORK:

The WPE/ PSS Outreach Officer will be responsible for delivering structured sessions targeting adolescent girls and caregivers, based on the standardized curricula under the IRC’s Women’s Protection and Empowerment (WPE) programming. The WPE/ PSS Outreach Officer will ensure that all sessions are conducted in a safe, respectful, and participatory manner, and are implemented in line with the program’s objectives and quality standards. The WPE/ PSS Outreach Officer will actively engage with participants, encourage discussion, and create a supportive environment that promotes girls’ empowerment, psychosocial well-being, and resilience. They will also support awareness-raising and information dissemination activities in the community to foster understanding and acceptance of the program by families and key stakeholders. This position requires a strong commitment to gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls, as well as the ability to work sensitively and respectfully with diverse community members.

Key Responsibilities: -------------------------

· Establish a Work plan to ensure proper start-up of the project in accordance with the program expectations and standards.

· Work closely with the Senior WPE officer to continuously design and adapt the Community outreach and mobilization strategy.

· Facilitate group sessions with participants using materials and approaches from the “Girls Shine”, PSS, and “Women Rise” programs, adapted to the local context.

· Conduct initial assessment and service mapping in the targeted locations to ensure the design and implementation of adequate services and coordination with other international and national actors.

· Provide feedback on needs and gaps to the WPE Senior Officer and the wider team

· Work closely with the Community Immobilizers to provide outreach to encourage survivors to come forward and seek assistance.

· Facilitate sessions focused on building awareness of different themes related to women and girls’ wellbeing and safety planning.

· In collaboration with the other service providers, conduct a variety of community outreach and mobilization activities aimed at violence prevention and building supportive and protective communities towards women and girls.

· Support awareness rises in the WGSS and outreach in the community, plus campaigns.

· Support the establishment of social networks through women and girls’ committees.

· Ensuring accurate data is collected, entered the database, and detailed analysis provided using the right tools.

· Prepare and submit weekly activity work plans in a timely manner to agreed-upon deadlines.

· Prepare monthly/weekly reports, including information on PSS and community engagement activities, and progress made as required by the Senior WPE Officer.

· Provide case documentation in line with safety, ethics, and confidentiality.

· Compile Commcare and data reports monthly.

· Prepare the success stories when applicable to be shared with the WPE Senior Officer for reporting issues.

· Complete confidential incident report and all other case-related forms.

· Work closely with women's committees and build their capacities.

· Engage in meetings with other service providers when needed.

· Raising community awareness about access and eligibility to services, expected staff behavior and community feedback, and safeguarding mechanisms, and how to use them.

· Collecting and recording community feedback while carrying out project activities.

· Reporting on community needs, preferences, and feedback to their supervisor.

· Promote and actively participate in initiatives and efforts to build team engagement, inclusion, and cohesion in the IRC Jordan office.

· Foster ongoing learning, honest dialogue, and reflection to strengthen safeguarding and to promote IRC values and adherence to IRC policies.

· Any other task as designated by the Senior WPE Officer, DDP, or other relevant team members.

Qualifications

· Holder of a bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, or any other related field.

· At least 3-5 years of counselling experience with issues relating to violence against women and girls, gender and development, child protection, or social change

· Clear understanding of gender inequality and issues surrounding violence against women and girls.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for clients and a Survivor-centered approach, at all times, is essential.

· Positive and professional attitude, able to organize, maintain composure and prioritize work under pressure, work overtime when necessary and be able to coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.

· The ability to work as a member of a team is essential.

· Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and good English.
