Background/Organizational Context IFC's Manufacturing, Agribusiness & Services (MAS) team in Europe is developing a Regional Jobs & Skills Platform ("the Platform"), as part of the Regain Jobs MAS Europe Upstream & Advisory project, to support the creation of more and better jobs across MAS sectors in the IFC Europe region — the Western Balkans, South Caucasus, Ukraine and Moldova, and the EU-4 (Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Poland).

Anchored in the WBG's core mission of creating more and better jobs, the Platform will mobilize a group of anchor firms around shared workforce, skills and inclusion challenges: participating companies will make time-bound pledges, adopt best practices, and become more investment-ready, with spillovers to the wider sector through supply-chain pull-through, industry demonstration, and peer-to-peer diffusion. The design draws on proven IFC peer-learning methodologies, will be complemented by targeted firm-level advisory, and will contribute directly to WBG Scorecard indicators including people benefiting from actions to advance gender equality and economic opportunity and private capital enabled.

The intern will join the MAS Europe UPAS team and work closely with the Regain Jobs project lead and workforce specialist. The successful design and delivery of the Platform will involve collaboration with IFC Investment Officers, Country Officers, IFC Knowledge Bank practices, and external partners.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Regain Jobs project lead, the intern will support the design, launch and early implementation of the Regional Jobs & Skills Platform. Specific responsibilities include:

• Market mapping and firm identification. Conduct desk research to map candidate anchor firms and prospective IFC investment clients across MAS sectors in the Europe region; support shortlisting of the cohort jointly with the Investment team. • Workforce and skills diagnostics. Support a rapid training and workforce needs analysis across participating firms; synthesize findings to inform peer learning content. • Platform design and materials. Contribute to the Platform’s design, including its implementation plan, session agendas, pledge templates, and knowledge products; draft briefing notes, one-pagers, and internal decks for management and partner engagement. • Peer learning event coordination. Support logistics, content preparation and follow-up for peer learning sessions and webinars; liaise with expert speakers from IFC, WBG, and partner institutions. • Pledge tracking and results monitoring. Develop and maintain a tracker for firm-level workforce pledges; support baseline data collection and results tracking against the Platform's indicators and milestones, and prepare progress updates. • Partnerships and knowledge. Support engagement with implementation partners - Knowledge Bank practices, industry associations, WBG teams. Ad hoc analytical support. Provide analytical and drafting support for firm-level advisory or investment engagements.
