How can you make a difference?

The WASH Officer reports to the Head of sub-Office (Maungdaw). The WASH Officer provides technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the WASH programming process. The Officer prepares, manages and implements a variety of technical and administrative tasks, related to the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the WASH output results of the country programme. Key focus of this position will be on monitoring of WASH programming with UNICEF implementing partners, contractors/service providers as well as direct implementation within Rakhine State.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

• A university degree is required. Specialisation in one of the following fields is preferable: public health, social sciences, behavior change communication, sanitary engineering or another relevant technical field.
• Additional relevant post-graduate courses that complement/supplement the main degree is a strong asset.
• DEVELOPMENTAL: a minimum of two years of professional work experience in WASH-related programmes in Myanmar is required.
• HUMANITARIAN: a minimum of two years’ experience is required, preferably in Rakhine State.
• Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language or local language of the duty station is considered as an asset

Assets and added advantage

• Experience and familiarity in working in development and emergency settings is an asset
• Work experience with UN organization/INGOs is desirable
• Rakhine and specifically Maungdaw based work experience
• Experience in field monitoring of WASH project implementation
