The WASH team generates and manages a wide range of technical, programme, monitoring and learning products, including guidance documents, programme reports, assessments and other evidence from WASH interventions. Ensuring that these resources are systematically organized, accessible and effectively disseminated is essential to strengthening institutional knowledge, supporting evidence-based programming and facilitating learning across teams and country programmes.
This assignment will contribute to strengthening WASH knowledge and information management systems, with a particular focus on the WASH SharePoint and Library and the MGMERL knowledge repository. The Online Volunteer will work closely with the WASH and M&E teams to improve the organization, classification, tracking, accessibility and dissemination of WASH-related information and evidence.
The Online Volunteer will contribute to improving the accessibility, structure and usability of WASH knowledge resources while gaining practical experience in knowledge management, information management, monitoring and evaluation, and WASH programming. The assignment will also provide an opportunity to collaborate remotely with WASH and M&E colleagues and strengthen skills in digital information management and evidence organization.
Under the guidance of the WASH team and in close collaboration with the M&E team, the Online Volunteer will support the strengthening of WASH knowledge and information management through the following activities: • Review and strengthen the WASH SharePoint and Library, including updating, restructuring or recreating the existing structure where required to ensure that WASH resources are logically organized, easy to navigate and readily accessible. • Review and organize existing WASH documentation and support the classification, filing and consolidation of relevant technical, programme, monitoring and learning materials. • Assist in updating and maintaining the dissemination matrix, ensuring that key WASH knowledge products and documents are systematically tracked and that materials identified for dissemination are properly documented. • Support the preparation and organization of documents for inclusion in the MGMERL Library, including reviewing available materials, identifying gaps and ensuring appropriate documentation and categorization. • Collaborate with the M&E team on MGMERL inventory management, including updating and maintaining the inventory of relevant WASH evidence, reports, knowledge products and other documentation. • Support information and knowledge mapping activities by identifying relevant WASH resources and improving linkages between programme documentation, evidence and knowledge repositories. • Contribute to practical tools and systems for document tracking, knowledge organization and information retrieval, as required by the WASH and M&E teams. • Provide related knowledge management, information management and documentation support to facilitate the systematic documentation and dissemination of WASH evidence and learning.
Candidates should have strong organizational, analytical and information management skills, with demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to structure and manage large volume of information and documentation. Experience in one or more of the following areas is desirable: • Knowledge or information management • Monitoring and evaluation • Document and records management • Data organization and analysis • SharePoint or other digital information management platforms • Research, reporting or evidence management • Water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) or international development Candidates should be comfortable working with digital collaboration and document management platforms and have the ability to work independently, organize information systematically, meet deadlines and collaborate effectively with colleagues working remotely.
