This is a UNV National Youth contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Youth contracts.

The UNICEF Thailand volunteer and advocacy programme, “I Am UNICEF”, located at http://bit.ly/iamunicef, has the purpose to create a movement that drives change and invites everyone in Thailand to volunteer their time and voice to help improve the lives of children and youth.

The UNV Volunteer Programme Associate will be tasked with overall support and upkeep of volunteering logistics; to assist in planning and managing volunteer events; and assist with performance reporting and analytics. In addition, the UNV will provide overall programme administrative assistance, including managing suppliers and keeping track of volunteer hours logged.

Under the direct supervision of Programme Officer, Volunteer Engagement Programme, the National UN Youth Volunteer will:

• Assist in the planning and implementation of supporter engagement/ volunteer activities, this includes providing assistance prior, during and post volunteer activities, and provide the day-to-day back-office management such as managing the distribution of volunteer products and assets, arranging meetings with internal and external stakeholders etc. • Manage the correspondence on volunteer communication channels (LINE official, volunteer central emails) • Act as coordinator of the Volunteer Leader Programme, ensuring the Volunteer Leaders have the necessary support to perform their duties and monitoring their experience as they undertake volunteering projects • Track volunteer attendance and participation in the system, and generate standard participation letter/ certificate of completion for volunteers • Act as a Knowledge Management focal point of Supporter Engagement team • Manage the supply chain for all promotional and volunteer activity materials and act as a focal point in coordinating procurement process between UNICEF Finance team and external vendors • Assist in planning and implementation of volunteer special events • Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor

Furthermore, UN Volunteers are encouraged to integrate the UN Volunteers programme mandate within their assignment and promote voluntary action through engagement with communities in the course of their work. As such, UN Volunteers should dedicate a part of their working time to some of the following suggested activities:

• Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and take active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark International Volunteer Day); • Be acquainted with and build on traditional and/or local forms of volunteerism in the host country; • Provide annual and end of assignment self- reports on UN Volunteer actions, results and opportunities.
• Contribute articles/write-ups on field experiences and submit them for UNV publications/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc.; • Assist with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly-arrived UN Volunteers; • Promote or advise local groups in the use of online volunteering, or encourage relevant local individuals and organizations to use the UNV Online Volunteering service whenever technically possible.

Results/Expected Outputs:

o Successful implementation and execution of the Volunteer Leader programme o Well planned and smoothly operated volunteer activities o On-time, accurate performance reporting o On-going satisfaction and positive engagement of volunteers o Effective overall programme administration

• Age, Gender and Diversity (AGD) perspective is systematically applied, integrated and documented in all activities throughout the assignment • A final statement of achievements towards volunteerism for peace and development during the assignment, such as reporting on the number of volunteers mobilized, activities participated in and capacities developed

or demonstrated interest and/or experience in working with volunteer programs • Ability to multitask and keep high working standards in a high pace office environment • Motivated to contribute towards peace and development and to serve others; • Good interpersonal, networking and communication skills; • Willingness to contribute and work as part of a team; • Flexible and open to learning and new experiences; • Respect for diversity and adaptability to other cultures, environments and living conditions; • Previous experience as a volunteer and/or experience of another culture, (i.e. studies, volunteer work, internship) would be highly regarded; • Computer skills (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, social media, and others).
