This is a UNV National Expert contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Expert contracts.

OHCHR-Colombia was established, upon request of the Commission on Human Rights and the initiative of the Government of Colombia, on 29 November 1996 by an Agreement between the Government of Colombia and the High Commissioner for Human Rights, (E/CN.4/1997/11). OHCHR has been present in Colombia since 1997. OHCHR-Colombia operates from the capital city, Bogotá, and twelve offices across the country.

One of these needs is a higher level of English proficiency, considering that English is one of the works United Nations work languages, all regulations, and rules are in English, and our HQ is in Geneva.

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Human Resources Officer, the UNV Development and Training Associate will:

Support to the Human Resources Officer in implementing comprehensive and high-quality training;
Assist in the implementation of training programs focus to strengthen English knowledge, through coffee meetings, business development, and workshops;
Support training English program logistics, including creating/sending invitations, scheduling, working with presenters, creating and distributing sign-in sheets and materials, moderating programs, acting as a liaison with Conference Services, and collecting and compiling feedback;
Assist in the implementation of training courses as assigned;
Plan and maintain training schedules, reserves training rooms, and coordinates scheduling with all stakeholders;



Send out surveys after trainings and reports results and trends to Human Resources Officer;
Support the Human Resources Unit in the non-official translation from English to Spanish of the HR policies/updates and other related HR practices with all OHCHR Personnel
Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the Human Resources Officer





Al least 15 years of work experience in English training programs, adult learning programs, major projects, or related activities

Bogotá is the capital of Colombia and one of the most populated cities in Latin America, so that subsistence expenses (including housing expenses) are higher than in other cities. Living and working

conditions in Bogotá present "low" risks. The city has security problems common to most growing capitals, however this does not create a permanent risk exposure for national and international staff. In Bogotá there are complete health services.

As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. National UN Volunteers are part of the malicious insurance plan
