This is a UNV International Youth contract. This kind of contract is known as International UN Volunteer. It is normally internationally recruited only. More about UNV International Youth contracts.

Eligibility criteria

Candidate age: between 18 and 29 throughout the entire duration of their assignment. Nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters duty stations.

Description of task

Under the direct supervision of REDD+ and Finance Coordination, and the technical specialist in Monitoring, Reportingand Evaluation of ProAmazonia, or the person designated, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

  • Support the Monitoring and Evaluation Unit in project´s follow-up processes, including monitoring, reporting and evaluation actions, and the preparation of reports that the program must generate, according to the corresponding assignment. such as:
    • Simplified Annual Progress Report (APR) for the GCF Payment for Results Project - Review the content of the report, edit drafts and final document in English, as well as annexes to the report requested by the donor.
    • Annual PIR progress report for the GEF, which is also part of PROAmazonía - Review and / or translate into English the report prepared by the Technical Specialist in Monitoring and Evaluation of the program. Annual APR progress report for the GCF, which is also part of PROAmazonía - Review and / or translate into English the report prepared by the Technical Specialist in Monitoring and Evaluation of the program.
    • Review and / or translate from Spanish/English or English/Spanish the documents generated by the components from the program and from UNDP as they are presented.
    • Support the review of inputs delivered by the Management Units of the Program for the preparation of reports.
    • Support the creation of an exclusive file for the Monitoring and Evaluation Unit of the program, which is for the used ofexternal audits and evaluations, which has to contain the necessary documentation such as reports with their means of verification, minutes of the steering committee, management committee, and using the guidelines to encode program files and folders.
    • Implement activities of the Monitoring and Evaluation System of the Projects that are part of PROAmazonía. The monitoring and follow-up system will be based on the Logical Framework of the Projects and the Annual Operational Planning of each one.
    • Keep the program's Monitoring System web tool operating, and support the process of adjusting and improving this tool.
    • Prepare communications and letters necessary for activities related to the monitoring and evaluation of the program.
    • Prepare minutes of agreement and / or documents of meetings, workshops or other events developed by the monitoring and evaluation unit.

Others tasks related to the assignment and requested by the Coordinator of the REDD + and Financing Unit, and the Technical Specialist in Monitoring, Reporting and Evaluation

Qualifications/Requirements

Required degree level:

Bachelor degree or equivalent

Education - Additional Comments:

  • Degree in Management, Business Administration, Environment, Project Management or related areas.
    • Desirable Master’s degree in areas related to the project.

Required experience:

24 Months

Experience remark:

  • Experience of two (2) years in follow-up, monitoring, planning and /or design projects; preferably development projects under the logical framework methodology.
  • Desirable two (2) years or more in monitoring and evaluation to development projects
  • Desirable experience in agricultural and environment projects.
  • Proficiency in English, with experience in preparing reports and technical documents in this language.
  • Desirable experience working on projects within Public Institutions and / or International Organizations such as the United Nations.

  • English(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
  • Spanish(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
