CBD COP 15 will review the achievement and delivery of the CBD’s Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020. It is also anticipated that the final decision on the post-2020 global biodiversity framework will be taken, together with decisions on related topics including capacity building and resource mobilization.

The UN Biodiversity Conference was originally scheduled to take place from 15-28 October 2020, in Kunming, China, but was postponed several times in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is anticipated that COP15 will now take place in Q3 2022.

GFCR is presented within the COP15 action agenda and is distinctly positioned as a tool for implementation of the post-2020 global biodiversity framework. This assignment will support event engagement planning through concrete deliverables.

COP15 Strategic Engagement Support (two volunteers - GFCR/Nature Assets): -Draft COP15 engagement plan and position paper, including recommendations for positioning and partnership/event/announcement alignments, circulate for input and compile final draft; - Co-drafting the overall COP15 work plan with timeline; - Draft side-event concept note; - Design and populate event outreach tracker excel;
- Update general GFCR talking points and produce COP15 specific talking points; - Research past Biodiversity COPs and prepare internal recommendation paper on necessary team actions event and meeting targets; and - Draft COP15 overall budget.

Social Media Strategy and Content Lead (one volunteer): -Prepare Social Media plan/strategy for GFCR engagement at COP15;
- In coordination with GFCR graphic design lead, co-prepare 8 Social Media creatives and lead drafting of posts captions in anticipation of planned engagements and announcements; and - Prepare Social Media kit for partners.

Strategic Announcements/Partnerships Planning Lead (one volunteer): - Prepare Communications Working Group and partners regarding GFCR COP15 Engagement Plan and relevant announcements;
- Draft three press releases/articles related to GFCR's engagement plan and specific planned announcements; - Review and input to relevant announcement social media posts; - Review and input to relevant talking points; and - Review and input to COP15 engagement plan ppt/deck.

Strategic Graphic Design Lead (one volunteer): - Prepare Communications Working Group and partners regarding GFCR COP15 Engagement Plan and relevant announcements;
- Design COP15 engagement newsletter template and creatives; - Design COP15 engagement social media creatives; - Design COP15 engagement plan ppt/deck.

Media Engagement Planning Lead (one volunteer):
- Prepare media engagement plan, contact list, and relevant media outreach emails for high-level visibility events and announcements; - Review and input to relevant press releases.

Conference Commitments and Strategic Engagement Support (one volunteer):
- Lead COP15 official updates/plans monitoring/reporting; - Research and provide recommended text and coordination points for filing COP15 official commitments; - Prepare and input commitments to conference portal; - Monitor COP15 and relevant communications platforms and provide updates to working group; - Review and input to overall COP15 Work Plan; - Review and input to relevant press releases.

Previous experience in event planning, media engagement, strategic engagement, social media management or speech writing; Excellent managerial/organisation skills and a solution-oriented attitude; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and within a multicultural team; Good command of information and communication technology; Prior experience with the UN system would be an asset; Prior experience working in Lisbon would be an asset
