Major Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Program and People Management: - Oversee the delivery of high quality, effective family education and child-watch services to clients via a team of early childhood education and childcare service providers. Coordinate the team in accordance with IRC’s People Manager Standards. - Provide training for program volunteers and interns. - Supervise number of staff, volunteers, and interns. - Ensure client and program data is collected consistently, managed appropriately, and reported accurately in accordance with program reporting requirements set by IRC.

Service Coordination:

- Conduct family outreach, recruitment, and support retention efforts for the program. - Support new student intake and orientation processes. - Manage delivery of the SafeCare project including schedule, delivery, and reporting. Coordinate with staff providers, interested and eligible families, and in-person interpretation for enrollment and orientation, sessions both at the IRC office and at client homes.

Program and Curriculum Development:

- Develop and organize standardized activities and curriculum for the early childhood and child-watch space, identify improvements, and implement refinements to support the delivery of effective, research-based practices.

Data & Reporting:

- Work closely with management and instructional staff to ensure compliance with all program standards and grant requirements through ensuring accurate tracking of student registration, assessments, daily attendance, and other data metrics. - Assist with the preparation of program reports (quantitative and narrative) and assist with program fundraising efforts to expand the reach and effectiveness of services. - Maintain ongoing communication with IRC management on the status of adult education programs and provide timely reports on client progress, program successes and needs, and staffing. - Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education:

- University degree (4-year) required; graduate degree (M.A., M.S., M.Ed. or higher) in education, TESOL/ESOL, or social work strongly preferred. - Completion of a certificate in early childhood education or in child development or a related certificate is strongly preferred.

Work Experience:

- Minimum two (2) years of teaching experience working in an education setting with multicultural populations and/or refugees. - Minimum of one (1) year of related curriculum development. - Minimum of one (1) year supervising and managing staff in an educational setting strongly preferred.

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

- Strong desire to support vulnerable individuals and families and enthusiasm for working in a multi-cultural setting. - Enthusiasm for early childhood education and language learning, with children and their families. - An understanding of the principles of early childhood development and an ability to adapt and develop curriculum to meet the needs of immigrant and refugee families. - An understanding of the principles of adult education with experience in curriculum development. - An understanding of safety and safeguarding best practices when working with children and vulnerable populations. - An interest in immigrant and refugee and asylee issues and the resettlement process. - Strong communication abilities, including the ability to lead groups of students and oversee community volunteers. - Comfortable working in a cross-cultural environment and with adult and child language learners, sometimes with little or no English proficiency. - Ability to take initiative, work independently on projects, and follow through on critical tasks. - Ability to work in a collaborative environment, sometimes co-teaching and sometimes facilitating learning through interpretation. - Strong time-management skills and comfortability with computer and web-based communication platforms. - Fluent in spoken and written English. Bi-lingual abilities in a language spoken by an IRC client group is desired. - Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite. - Demonstrated ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Working Environment:

- An office workspace with integrated adult classrooms and childcare spaces. - Some local and domestic travel as needed for meetings and conferences.
