Translate key UNDP knowledge products from English to Arabic.

You have:

  • Fluency in Arabic and English is required.
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as public health or international development.
  • Experience in translation is required and should be demonstrated in the application.

As a development agency, UNDP focuses on addressing social, structural, economic, commercial and environmental determinants of health, which are primarily responsible for health inequalities. In so doing, the organization leverages its extensive presence and networks at global, regional and country levels, its mandate to work broadly – to connect the dots – across development sectors, and its commitment to integrated and innovative solutions to the most pressing development challenges. 

The Online Volunteers will translate key UNDP knowledge products such as policy briefs and advocacy materials from English into Arabic. The Online Volunteers will work on three investment case reports (about 30 pages per report) each, as well as three advocacy strategies (around 3 pages). UNDP Health and Development Unit will provide required information and guidance. Upon completion, the online volunteer will be given due credit and receive a Certificate of Appreciation for their contribution. No financial compensation is provided for this online volunteering opportunity.  

The Online Volunteers are expected to be fluent in Arabic and in English. Candidates are encouraged to share certificates proving their fluency or specifying if they are native Arabic speakers in their application. At minimum, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in public health, international development, political sciences, translation, language and linguistics, or a relevant field is needed to perform this task. Experience in translation is required and should be demonstrated in the application.
