Translation Support for Project Files on Volunteer Service (Chinese-English)

BVF is scheduled to organize the Third International Volunteer Service Exchange Conference in May, 2023, which is a platform for international exchange, prompting communication, sharing, and cooperation among countries, exhibiting volunteerism's spirit and value, and searching for innovative plans and approaches to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.

In the preparation process, BVF is seeking the support of online volunteers to help in translating documents related to the conference. BVF also welcomes outstanding translation volunteers to participate in the reception of the conference at the end of May, 2023.

As a significant partner of UNV China, BVF has just launched the Project of Promoting Sustainable Urban Development through Volunteer Service for the Beijing Winter Olympics, in 2021 with UNDP, UNV and CICETE.

BVF is looking for the support of online volunteers with excellent language proficiency in Chinese and English. The selected volunteers will be expected to translate the project profiles and documents including activity agenda, invitation letter, research report and other related files.

Specifically, the task involves: 1) translating BVF profiles and documents, about 40 pages in total; 2) translating the agenda, invitation letter and other related files, which have about 40 pages; 3) ensuring the quality of translation; 4) improving the format before submitting them. The final translation should be understandable to the readers in terms of its purpose, coherence and fidelity.

1) Outstanding Language skill: High proficiency in translation between Chinese and English. Please upload relevant documents, including but not limited to English test scores and translation certificates, such as CET-4/6, TEM-4/8, IELTS, TOEFL, CATTI, etc.

2) Passion and professionalism: Strong interests and experience in volunteer service or related activities. Please describe your experience in volunteer service in your profile.
