UNV is looking for an online volunteer to help us translate a Retention Survey Key Findings report from English to French. The document will be used by the organization to send them to our partners in French speaking countries. The text to be translated is approx. 1,900 words long.

  In addition to UN Volunteers whose assignments are paid for by the hosting UN agencies, some external partners, mainly governments, provide funding to UNV to sponsor UN Volunteers, mainly their own citizens, to work in the UN system worldwide. Since 2008, there have been more than 2,700 such “fully funded” UN Volunteer assignments. The Full Funding Programme provides opportunities for participants to develop skills, gain field experience and exposure to the UN system in the fields of peace and human security, humanitarian assistance and development cooperation. In order to better understand the career trajectories of these fully funded UN Volunteers, particularly their retention within the United Nations system, UNV conducted online surveys of these UN Volunteers in 2016 and 2020. In February 2020, a survey was sent to 1,943 UN Volunteers who had served as specialists and youth volunteers and who had completed their first fully funded assignment (FF) between 2008 and 2019. 1,031 UN Volunteers completed the survey, representing a 53% response rate.

  A perfect command of French, which must be the volunteer's main language, and very good knowledge of English. A minimum of three years of translation experience; ideally within an international organization, including the United Nations.
