You have:

  • Native Russian speaker with fluent English skills.
  • Desirable: Proficiency in Kazakh language.
  • Previous translation experience is an asset.
  • Ability to adapt translations to local context.

The volunteers will competently and correctly translate health campaigns and social media messages, press-releases from English to Russian, from Russian to English. It is important that volunteers have a medical background as all materials are related to public health campaigns. The texts might contain some professional medical vocabulary. The volunteer will work closely with Communication and social media team of WHO country office in Kazakhstan.

We are seeking for 2 Online Volunteers to support us by translating the health-related communication materials for WHO Communication and social media team: -To translate and adapt to local context health campaigns and messages for social media. -To edit and adapt social media visuals (pictures, photos) from its original English version to Russian and Kazakh. Kazakh translation will be provided. - To translate press-releases, short articles for media.

The selected Online Volunteer will be provided with Communication’s team assistance and guidance as needed.

The Online Volunteer will have the opportunity to learn how the translated product contributes to increasing public health awareness via media channels – media, social media.

Candidates should be native in Russian and fluent in English. Kazakh language is desirable as volunteer will be working sometimes with Kazakh texts too. Previous translation experience is considered an asset.
