The task involves the translation of legal and financial documents from an NGO registered in Turkey, from Turkish to English. The original Turkish text is made up of three documents totaling 28 pages, at about 300 words per page. Thematic area: administration, audits, non-government organisations. The second volunteer will proofread the translated text.

    The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) is a training arm of the UN system with a mandate related to building capacities for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development through outcome-based training and learning initiatives. The Division for Peace strives to support the (re-)establishment of peaceful, just and inclusive societies by enabling individuals, institutions and organizations to contribute meaningfully to sustainable peace. The Division is currently translating materials from a NGO for the purpose of establishing a partnership where UNITAR and the collaborating actor will develop training courses, workshops, and online educational programmes in the areas of peacebuilding, conflict transformation, political participation, and gender equality in line with the partners' commitment to contributing to the realization of the SDGs (in particular 4, 5, 7, 10, 16 and 17).

  • Volunteers: 2 needed

  • 11-20 hours per week / 2 weeks

    Previous experience in translation (Turkish-English); Knowledge of the Turkish legal and financial terminology and terminology related to the running of non-governmental organizations; Previous experience in translation for non-governmental organizations is desirable.
