Overview

You have:

  • At least 2 years experience in translation.
  • Native in Arabic and fluent in English.
  • Familiarity with technical terms related to development/recovery sector.
  • Previous translation experience with the UN.

The UN is preparing a series of concept notes for recovery joint programmes to mobilize support to areas and people affected by the war. The assignment aims to translate the concept notes from English to Arabic to share with all donors in the region.

We are seeking [3] Online Volunteers to support us by translating joint programme concept notes from English to Arabic. To this end the Online Volunteers are asked: - To translate the document, which is [number of words 3,500 average] long into [ official Arabic] - Ensure the translation is in line with UN Terms,

The selected Online Volunteers will be provided with the document in English and will receive guidance on the translation.

The Online Volunteers will have the opportunity to build connections with the RCO team at Lebanon and learn about the ways in which the translated product contributes to mobilizing support to recovery programmes in Lebanon.

Candidates should have at least 2 years experience and be native in fluent in English and Arabic. Familiarity with technical terms related to development/recovery sector will be considered an advantage. Previous translation experience with the UN is considered an asset.
