Overview

Support live translation of Founders Sessions from English to French.

You have:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor's or Master's programme in Business Administration, International Development, Public Policy, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar).
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote, fast-paced environment.
  • Prior contract or work experience in an international organisation, VC firm, NGO, startup ecosystem, or development programme.
  • Familiarity with Africa's innovation or startup ecosystem landscape.
  • Experience with project management tools like Trello, Asana, or Monday.com.
  • Interest in AI for development, climate innovation, digital public infrastructure, or public health.

As the Foundation scales its programme delivery and strategic partnerships including high-profile grant initiatives, government engagement, and regional convenings,there is a need for dedicated administrative and logistical support at the project management level.

We are seeking two volunteers to tag team in supporting the Translation of Founders Sessions role will provide translation support on our weekly 1 hr founders sessions that hold once a week on Mondays at 1.30PM Kigali time.

The volunteer will produce the following output:

Translation services: Live translation from English to French of the Founders Sessions for 12 virtual meetings and convenings (Zoom) ;

Education: Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor's or Master's programme in Business Administration, International Development, Public Policy, Project Management, or a related field.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar) ; comfort navigating virtual collaboration tools like Zoom, Teams, Slack, Notion, or similar.

Core Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills with high attention to detail ; ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote, fast-paced environment.

Preferred/Desirable: Prior contract or work experience in an international organisation, VC firm, NGO, startup ecosystem, or development programme ; familiarity with Africa's innovation or startup ecosystem landscape ; experience with project management tools like Trello, Asana, or Monday.com ; and an interest in AI for development, climate innovation, digital public infrastructure, or public health.
