Support translation of surveys addressing young people's issues

You have:

  • Fluency in Tamil (preferably native) and English.
  • Interest in youth empowerment and youth engagement related work.
  • Background in translation services.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Submission of a translated paragraph as part of the selection process.

U-Report South Asia is looking for online volunteers who would support in translating surveys addressing young people issues from English into Tamil (Sri Lanka). The volunteer will be asked to start ASAP and to submit the translation work within 48 hours (for a text of approx. 1000 words). Google translation will not be accepted. Online volunteers will receive a certificate for completing their assignments.

    U-Report is a free online tool to communicate and share issues that matter to young people. It allows young people from any community, anywhere in the world to speak out, respond to polls, and become positive agents of change. U-Report is all about young people’s voices. Once someone join the U-Report community they are able to take polls and share young people’s issues and voices with other young people and policymakers. Website: www.southasia.ureport.in

  • Volunteers: 12 needed

  • 1-5 hours per week / 1 weeks

    The volunteer should be fluent in the local language (preferably native) and English and should have a great interest in youth empowerment and youth engagement related work. A background in translation, youth engagement and having an understanding of youth friendly tone of voice is an advantage. The volunteers need to be able to work under tight deadlines. Interested candidate will be requested to submit a paragraph translated into language in which they expertise in as part of the selection.
