The Mekong countries (Thailand, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Vietnam) and Singapore are home to around 400 indigenous languages. However, these languages are facing threats of disappearance due to many reasons, including the out-of-date usage that does not compatible with the rapid technological changes in the world. Indigenous communities also face challenges to Internet access and inclusion, which makes it even harder for the indigenous languages to be ‘up-to-date’ and easily used in the digital era. As one of the technologies that attract the attention of the world, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has started to play an increasingly important role in our daily lives, while there are very few resources to explain what is AI and how to use them in indigenous languages. Therefore, to promote access to digital information and content, and provide equal resources on digital technologies for indigenous people, UNESCO Bangkok calls for voluntary translation of the newly launched AI animation series, which was created based on UNESCO's publications to promote a better understanding of human-centred AI and ethical principles underpinning in its development.
