We are looking for 4 Online Volunteers to translate e-learning materials from English to French for the self-paced course on Green Entrepreneurship, which includes 6 lessons (around 10K words each). This course will be offered in English, French, and Spanish. The course partners include the United Nations Development Programme, the GEF Small Grants Programme, the Convention on Biological Diversity, and SEED. The online volunteer will have the opportunity to build connections with the Learning for Nature team at UNDP and a team of translators, as well as learn about promoting sustainable development through entrepreneurship.

    Learning for Nature is the premier e-learning platform by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Learning for Nature offers Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), self-paced courses, podcasts, and other e-learning opportunities. The course “Green Entrepreneurship'' offers guidance for representatives of governments, the private sector and civil society on making a stronger case for promoting economic growth in a sustainable fashion. Learning for Nature connects biodiversity policymakers, change-makers, and on-the-ground subject matter experts to facilitate the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. UNDP’s Global Programme on Nature for Development houses Learning for Nature, the Equator Initiative, NBSAP Forum, and the New York Declaration on Forests Global Platform. Access to the global multi-stakeholder networks mobilized by these initiatives allows Learning for Nature to circulate knowledge while promoting best practices and engage over 33K course participants.

  • 6-10 hours per week / 8 weeks

    Candidates should have a native-level knowledge of French and fluency in English. Familiarity with technical terms related to business and economic development will be considered an advantage. A one-paragraph translation may be requested as part of the selection process.
