You have:
- Knowledge of English is required, knowledge of any other official UN language is an advantage
- Understanding of public policy, public administration, and e-government
- Research and analytical skills
- IT skills, knowledge of statistical programming and tools of analysis is an advantage
- Skills in statistical and data analysis, knowledge of complex network analysis is an advantage
- Communication skills, proven by assessments, papers, articles, essays written in English

The Digital Government Branch (DGB) undertakes activities related to assessment of use and potential of ICTs to transform public sectors in all Member States through the E-Government Survey; implementation of outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society, facilitation of policy dialogue on Internet governance; and implementation of various projects at regional and local levels. Online volunteers will receive accreditation for their support of DGB in implementing these activities through their translation of research materials, ranging from a short paragraph to several pages.

Translation and interpretation
The main objective of the assignments is to contribute to implementation of the ongoing programme activities, including research and data analysis. Thanks to the support of volunteers, UNDESA was one of the ten winners of the “Online Volunteering Award 2013” announced by the UNV programme in November 2013, in recognition of the effort undertaken by the Data Team of the UN E-Government Survey 2014, led by the Digital Government Branch of DPIDG.

11-20 hours per week / 12 weeks
