Duties and Responsibilities The United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC) provides critical Supply Chain, Geospatial Information and Telecommunications Technologies services and training to all Peacekeeping and Special Political Missions around the world as well as to other UN Offices, Agencies Funds and Programs.
This, locally recruited, position is located in the Technical Cell of Campus Support Unit, within the Central Service (CS), at the UNGSC, Brindisi, Italy.
The incumbent reports to and works under the supervision of the Chief Campus Support Unit.
The Technical Cell of Campus Support Unit is responsible for the maintenance of GSC facilities and is seeking for a Tender Specialist to be employed for the preparation of four (4) tender packages related to the following services: Replacement of heating/cooling system for Bldg. 92. LTA for specialized service related to asbestos abatement. LTA for cleaning service at the UNICTF, Valencia LTA for roofing service at the UNGSC
The incumbent will be responsible to perform the following duties: 1. Inspection and survey of existing sites, utilities, equipment, systems, and connections. 2. Preliminary assessment that includes: 2.1. Analysis and evaluation of various solutions. 2.2. Schematic drawings. 2.3. Advice on its feasibility. 2.4. Statement of estimates for each option. 3. Preparation of tender package that includes: 3.1. Scope of Works: technical specifications, drawings and other graphics, design of the different parts and components of the systems. 3.2. Bill of Quantities: description of works, quantities, units, rate costs, amount with summary sheet. 3.3. Preparation of detailed method of work for the implementation of the projects (if any). 4. Preparation of works programs (Gantt Chart).
Qualifications/special skills Education: University Degree in Engineering or Architecture is required.
Work experience: A minimum of five (5) years of working experience in design, analysis and preparation of technical documentations for engineering field is required.
Licenses: Enrollment in the respective Italian Professional Boards is required.
Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post fluency in oral and written English is required.
