Expected duration The proposed Consultant will be hired for 120 working days.

Duties and Responsibilities The United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC) provides critical Supply Chain, Geospatial Information and Telecommunications Technologies services and training to all Peacekeeping and Special Political Missions around the world as well as to other UN Offices, Agencies Funds and Programs.

This position is located in the Technical Cell of Campus Support Unit, within the Central Service (CS), at the UNGSC, Brindisi, Italy.

The incumbent reports to and works under the supervision of the Chief Campus Support Unit.

The Technical Cell of Campus Support Unit is responsible for the maintenance of GSC facilities and is seeking for a Tender Specialist to be employed for the preparation of six (6) tender packages related to the following services: - Long term agreement for doors and windows at the UNGSC - Long term agreement for painting and plastering at the UNGSC - Long term agreement for the collection and disposal of special and toxic waste at the UNGSC - Long term agreement for the maintenance of the UNGSC fuel station at the UNGSC - Rainwater irrigation system at Bldg. 94, Bldg. 96, Bldg. 254, green village, and other minor areas at the UNGSC - Acoustic and illuminating engineering design for the UNGSC cafeteria at Bldg. 228.

The incumbent will be responsible to perform the following duties: 1. Inspection and survey of existing sites, utilities, equipment, systems, and connections. 2. Preliminary assessment that includes: 2.1. Analysis and evaluation of various solutions. 2.2. Schematic drawings. 2.3. Advice on its feasibility. 2.4. Statement of estimates for each option. 3. Preparation of tender package that includes: 3.1. Scope of Works: technical specifications, drawings and other graphics, design of the different parts and components of the systems. 3.2. Bill of Quantities: description of works, quantities, units, rate costs, amount with summary sheet. 3.3. Preparation of detailed method of work for the implementation of the projects (if any). 4. Preparation of a works programs (Gantt Chart).

Qualifications/special skills Licenses & Certificates: Enrollment in the respective Italian Professional Boards is required. Academic Qualifications: University Degree in Engineering or Architecture is required. Experience: A Minimum of five (5) years working experience in design, analysis, and technical documentations for engineering. Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post fluency in oral and written English is required.
