Manage lifecycle of contracts and licenses for technology.

You have:

  • University degree in business, accounting, or IT.
  • Typically 10–12 years of overall professional experience, with at least 7 years of experience as an IT buyer, IT vendor manager, or IT supplier relationship manager.
  • Experience in negotiating complex contracts.
  • Experience in managing server software licensing models and product use rights across major software vendors.
  • Experience working with high-value software contracts with vendors such as Microsoft, IBM, and Oracle.
  • Experience working with IT asset management systems and IT asset discovery technologies.
  • Experience on SNOW License Manager and/or ServiceNow is an asset.
  • Strong experience in third-party supplier management.
  • Excellent command of English; knowledge of French is an asset.
  • Knowledge of software asset management concepts, policies, procedures, and techniques.
  • Prior knowledge of vendor models, including the development of, and exposure to, transformational programs.
  • Computer proficiency.

What we do

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) works worldwide to provide protection and humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflict and armed violence. We take action in response to emergencies and, at the same time, promote respect for international humanitarian law. We are an independent and neutral organization, and our mandate stems essentially from the Geneva Conventions of 1949. We work closely with National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and with their International Federation in order to ensure a concerted, rational and rapid humanitarian response to the needs of the victims of armed conflict or any other situation of internal violence. We direct and coordinate the international activities conducted in these situations.

Your role

The Technology Vendor Manager is responsible for managing the lifecycle of contracts and licenses for software, services, and hardware. They ensure performance, quality, and compliance, while also identifying cost-saving opportunities. This role involves close collaboration with procurement, finance, and IT stakeholders, including Product Line Leaders, Product Managers, and Product Owners.

Using tools such as SNOW License Manager, ServiceNow, and Power BI, they monitor contract and license expenditures to refine vendor strategies by product and platform. They also help ensure the successful execution of various strategic components—Technology, Digital, Procurement, and Product strategies.

Additionally, they play a key role in building productive partnerships with our key vendors, aligning with the T&I (Technology & Information) product-centric model and agile values.

Main activites & Functional responsibilities

  • Collaborates and aligns with ICRC procurement and T&I leaders in the implementation of the technology roadmap and contract management process.
  • Automates the management of the contract lifecycle through tools and processes.
  • Participates with procurement in supplier relationship management.
  • Monitors vendor performance over time to enable continuous improvement.
  • Creates opportunities to establish agile, impact-driven contractual relationships with key vendors in alignment with ICRC procurement and T&I leaders.
  • Owns the license lifecycle, from acquisition through management to termination, with a focus on continuously optimizing usage and running costs, while collaborating closely with T&I leaders and ICRC procurement.
  • Enables long-term visibility and strategic planning for the ongoing technology vendor landscape, in alignment with the CIO, CTO, the entire T&I leadership team, and ICRC procurement.

Relationships

  • Internally, interacts with the Head of ICT Region and entire T&I (Technology & Information) Division.
  • Externally, interacts with providers.
