UNICEF's Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC) in Budapest, Hungary provides services to UNICEF offices globally in the areas of Finance, Human Resources, Payroll and Information Technology.

You will have the opportunity to work in UNICEF’s Global Shared Services Centre in a team under the supervision of a Senior Human Resources Associate, to support UNICEF staff members worldwide by administering a wide range of activities related to benefits and entitlements, and/or personnel management, utilizing complex enterprise systems and applying the internal rules, regulations, and policies. You will work in a dynamic HR Administration team, and your role will involve:

You will review requests from offices or staff members and:

  • Process more complex requests or transactions in different systems, ensuring that they are in accordance with the internal rules and regulations, processes and procedures.
  • Alert managers of complex issues and recommend solutions.
  • Process other actions and updates in systems, and support maintaining quality HR, staff, and personnel data

You will provide support to UNICEF offices and staff members by:

  • Answering various queries including complex situations, applying best business practice and great sense of client orientation;
  • Proactively reaching out to client offices and staff members to ensure that communication and expectations are clear.

You will contribute to the development and maintenance of HR Admin procedures and processes and respective documentation:

  • Analyze and review processes and procedures and contribute to the development and revision of the respective documents, including Standard Operating Procedures, process instructions and other documents, participate in other related projects.

You will share knowledge with new staff of HR Administration team in GSSC:

  • Review, and update training materials and/or internal tools and documents to facilitate GSSC HR Administration’s work;
  • Support new HR Assistants of HR Administration by training them on various processes, systems, rules, and regulations.

You will identify areas for continuous improvement and partner on projects / initiatives for building efficiencies at the GSSC and enhancing client experience.

We are looking for candidates who are motivated, dynamic, proactive, respectful and client focused, having the skills for attention to detail, managing time well, communicating effectively and being aware of multicultural environment.   • Completion of secondary education (i.e. high school diploma) is a minimum requirement.
  • Advanced knowledge in the Microsoft Suite of Products (including MS Word, MS Excel & MS PowerPoint) is required. Experience with talent management system and SAP is an asset.
  • Work experience in the SSC-context is an asset.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of relevant work experience in human resources is required, with at least two (2) years of experience in administering contracts, benefits and entitlements. A completed university degree in HR or related field from an accredited institution will be counted towards two (2) years of relevant experience.
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required.
  • Do you have past work experience in administering HR contracts, working on benefits and entitlements, experience in international organizations, have experience using SAP, do you know other UN languages, or do you have strong performance record? Such qualities will be considered as an asset during the recruitment process.

Internal applicants from GSSC are required to complete the courses of Learning Paths that are identified as essential when applying to the level of this post
