Amidst fast-changing global context challenges UNICEF is to remain adaptable while constantly evolving to deliver results for children. Therefore, we need a learning platform that can provide a high-quality employee experience to all people throughout their careers at UNICEF and key partners, who must perform at their best. Agora, UNICEF’s Learning Management System (LMS), offers easy, structured, and centralized access to learning opportunities for UNICEF staff and partners worldwide.

How can you make a difference?

The successful candidate will contribute to the deployment of learning solutions on Agora, UNICEF’s learning management platform – by providing their technical experience and creativity. They will also have the opportunity to collaborate with the GSSC curriculum developers and designers to recommend and add graphics, animation, visual creativity to e-learning projects. In addition, the internship will provide exposure for the candidate to video production and how these fit into UNICEF’s mission globally.

This will involve:

  • Supporting platform management experts in building and testing online courses.
  • Performing initial troubleshooting of reported errors.
  • Working in collaboration with subject-matter and e-learning experts to finalize e-learning content and support their deployment in the Agora learning management system.
  • Take on additional Learning and Development projects may be assigned based on the intern’s areas of interest and expertise.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Current enrolment in a degree programme at the Bachelor or Master’s level or recent graduate (within 2 years) in education, instructional design, or other related fields.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge in e-learning authoring tools is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong commitment and drive for results demonstrated.

Contract Duration and Terms

  • Applications are welcome from Hungarian and EU citizens as well as from 3rd country nationals with valid Hungarian student/work permits covering the entire period of the internship (6 months) already at the time of application. 3rd country candidates must attach their student/work permits to their applications otherwise they will not be considered.
  • The duration of this internship is 26 weeks (6 months) with estimated start date 15 July 2024.
  • Applicants must be physically present in Hungary during the entire period of internship as it is a mandatory requirement to work at least 3 times a week in the Budapest office, while 2 times home office (within the duty station) is allowed.
  • Individuals must fund their travel and living expenses and must have proof of medical insurance covering their time in Hungary.
  • Internships are paid a monthly net stipend of HUF 362,133 per month (HUF 2,105 per hour) for full-time arrangements (40hrs/week), which will be prorated according to attendance. Work arrangements are based on the effective regulations of the duty station, organizational needs and schedules of the interns.
  • Appointments are also subject to inoculation (vaccination) requirements, including against SARS-CoV-2 (COVID).
  • Full-time interns may take up to 2.5 days per month off work for any reason, including medical reasons. The stipend will be reduced for any absence beyond this quota.
