Contract level and remuneration will be determined based on the qualification and experience of the selected candidate.

JOB PURPOSE

The HR Consultant is expected to deliver a professional, client-focused HR service, partnering with managers to implement HR solutions in line with WFP corporate priorities in support remotely from Bangkok for the recruitment surge at the Afghanistan Country Office.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about our mandate and keen to contribute to the team by bringing their experience as a talent acquisition specialist and recruiter. You will be responsible for acting as Talent Acquisition adviser and coordinator to support the Afghanistan CO HR team to enable WFP to attract the best talent through an efficient, fair and transparent process. You will need strong stakeholder and client management skills, as well to be agile and flexible to manage positions across a variety of functions in a unique WFP Level 3 Emergency and diverse organizational context.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  1. Lead end-to-end recruitment processes for Afghanistan Country Office positions across various functions.
  2. Act as a Talent Acquisition adviser for assigned hiring managers to guide them on best recruitment practices in line with the organization and functional talent requirements.
  3. Partner with managers throughout the recruitment process, to ensure the highest standards of efficiency and integrity, in line with internal recruitment procedures, as well as the highest talent standards are applied in selection process.
  4. Take the lead and ensure timely preparation and presentation of the necessary documentation for the interviews, review panel discussions and assessments, including weekly statistics and reports.
  5. Facilitate Local Appointment Panel Committee meetings (LAPC) or Roster Validation panel meetings and present documentations to examine the review panel’s recommendations. Ensure timely preparation of full documentation.
  6. Review the composition of the pool of qualified candidates at key stages in the recruitment process and introduce corrective measures to maintain a balanced pipeline both in terms of gender representation in line with the organization's diversity targets.
  7. Rosters development and management.
  8. Train and mentor junior colleagues on the team.
  9. Any other duties as required.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: University degree in Human Resource Management, Public or Business Administration, Industrial Psychology or other relevant field, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience or trainings/courses.

Experience: At least 4-6 years of recruitment/talent acquisition experience in an international context. You should have demonstrated experience recruiting for a variety of functions and specializations.

Knowledge & Skills: WFP /UN HR working experience is desired for this role.

Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English is required.
