How can you make a difference?

Reporting to the UNICEF WASH Cluster Coordinator (with technical guidance from the UNICEF WASH

Section IM) the Information Management Specialist is responsible for the following areas to support

the WASH Cluster in:

  1. Supporting and documenting service delivery

  2. Informing strategic decision-making of the WASH Cluster and MENARO Gaziantep office for the

humanitarian response

  1. Prioritization, grounded in response analysis

  2. Advocacy using data, maps, bulletins as well as other information-based tools and utilities

  3. Monitoring and reporting the implementation of the program strategy and results; recommending

corrective action where necessary based on information /data results

  1. Ensure reporting on Accountability to affected population as well as other cross cutting mandates

for UNICEF.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Consolidate periodic 4W tables received and maintain monthly reporting for WOS WASH Sector. Carryout information management (Smart 4Ws and HDSS) for WASH Cluster for the cross-border response from Gaziantep Hub.
  • Analyse and report WASH Cluster activities and resources and identify information gaps, to best advise internal programmatic decision making as well as contributing to showing results of the three programmes against targets of the joints operational plan and the humanitarian response plan.
  • Maintain information databases that consolidate, analyse and report/disseminate information critical to decision making.
  • Ensure at all the times the security of data and respect the confidentiality agreements with partners.
  • Support the estimation of spatial and temporal gaps, overlaps and coverage of program activities.
  • Prepare and disseminate reports and maps based on information received from the implementing
  • Partners.
  • Prepare SitRep inputs with emphasis on WASH Cluster plans, targets and achievements, and keep a good linkage with UNICEF programmes.
  • Develop and strengthen IM capacity of WASH Cluster implementing partners through the training.
  • Carryout IM role in assessments and monitoring, including joint assessments and training and work with WASH Cluster co-lead IM to deliver IM products.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • A first university degree preferably in geographic information system, Information Technology, Information Systems, computer science, or related fields.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in a similar role.
  • Field work experience.
  • Background/familiarity with Emergency.
  • Proven statistical, analytic and technical skills including database management and data analysis, high
  • level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), ability to maintain basic
  • websites, ability to produce data summaries and visualizations, GIS knowledge an advantage.
  • Fluency in English and fluency in Arabic is desirable.
