UNICEF Haiti is seeking an ICT Associate with a strong interest in IT fields as IT Helpdesk Technician, Desktop Support Technician, Systems Administrator or Network Administrator. The Associate will join the ICT team and will collaborate with the Regional Office teams, The Haiti Country Office teams, external IT partners and internal support (GSSC, HQ ).

How can you make a difference?

Helpdesk Support:

  • Facilitate audio/video conferencing, ensuring corporate equipment audio/video equipment are available and connectivity ready to accommodate conference within UN Agencies and partners.
  • Installing/upgrading, configuring (routine, standard) and maintaining systems, tools and equipment.
  • Facilitate Virtual conference bridge facility for local and international conference calls and VoIP.
  • Providing first-level support that includes receiving, processing, and logging service requests.
  • Managing lifecycle of ICT incidents assigned to him/her in service management tool.

ICT resources Support

Provide accountability for information technology resources through accurate analysis and evaluation of office’s ICT needs, sound procurement, cost-effective installation, and maintenance, maintaining software/hardware standards, and regular accurate inventory and reporting of hardware, peripherals, and software.

The knowledge management support

Enhance knowledge management through coordination of office records management including systems for the acquisition, storage, and retrieval of data; management of the local database capacity required using standard ICT database. Provide support to ensure the accuracy and accessibility of data sources.

Advice on ICT policies and guidelines

Advise staff on correct interpretation and application of ICT policies and guidelines in support of the office's information management needs.

The confidentiality, integrity and availability of the ICT system, LAN, and data

Assist in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the ICT system, LAN, and data security, including user access to computer and telecommunications facilities. Monitor and support Inter-/Intra-net functionality, security, and integrity.

ICT Administration:

  • Preventative maintenance of the Server Room Facility.
  • Facilitate printer operation, ensure that our printers are functioning and ready and users can print properly. Ensure Printer cartridge replacement monitoring and installation.
  • Providing second-level user support/troubleshooting.

The office's integrated information technology integration

Support the office's information technology needs through seamless integration of UNICEF organizational computer applications (e.g., SAP-VISION].

Effective customer support and training

Assist in ensuring effective customer support in area of information technology and telecommunications by providing computer training as well as troubleshooting and ad-hoc technical assistance to users.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Completion of Secondary education supplemented with formal training (at university level) in Computer Science, Business Administration, or computer related certification (e.g., A+ certification, ITIL Foundation Certification or equivalent customer support certification).
  • Computer literacy and ability to effectively use standard office software, tools, and technologies.
  • Thorough knowledge of computer systems and applications.
  • A minimum of six years of practical work experience in information technology, requiring systematic methods of troubleshooting and problem solving is required. Experience in providing assistance to users on IT products and services and use of applications and diagnostic tools is required. Practical experience in providing technical and business Customer Support and Services is required. Practical experience and working knowledge of various computer platforms and applications is required.
  • Fundamental working knowledge of TCP/IP in an Ethernet Local/Wide Area Network environment.
  • Knowledge of Radio communication VHF, HF and Satellite phones
  • Practical experience with various computer platforms and applications: operating systems, email and database systems, Microsoft Office product suites, Help Desk software, advanced PC/laptop/printer installation, configuration, troubleshooting and repairs. Work experience in providing ICT support to remote field offices in developing countries an asset.
  • Fluency in French and Creole is required. Good working knowledge of English is an asset.
