Job Description

General Duties

- Participate in needs assessments and distributions as required. - Create and Maintain surveillance network mapping of key individuals (elders, mullah and local shears) in all of IRC operational areas. - Work with the Emergency PM and Field Coordinator to complete the monthly Early warning tracking report, and flag immediately any contextual development that might result in instances of displacement.

Specific Duties:

- Liaise with community elders, shuras and religious leaders to inform them about project activities and gain their support to IRC project in their areas. - To conduct continuous context monitoring and community engagement to identify displaced caseloads. - To track and report on military or political developments at the Provincial level that may result in instances of displacement and report these developments through the Early Warning tracking report. - To increase access and to promote IRC acceptance in the project target area by developing positive relations with communities through regular meetings with elders, mullah and local shuras. - Provide information for community members about IRC history and mission as non-governmental and non-politic international humanitarian organization. - Create and maintain communication systems with communities for mutual understanding of project goals and implementation plans. - Visit target areas of the IRC’s projects and provide, update reports to the Emergency PM and Field Coordinator. - Participate in needs assessments and distributions as required. - Create and Maintain surveillance network mapping of key individuals (elders, mullah and local shuras) in all of IRC operational areas. - Work with the Emergency PM and Field Coordinator to complete the monthly Early warning tracking report, and flag immediately any contextual development that might result in instances of displacement. - To attend the HRT/OCT and PDMC meetings at the provincial level to gain update about the disasters, displacement situation and to further follow up. - Any other related duties assigned by the Emergency Manager.

Qualifications

- Education: Bachelor’s in business administration or relevant - Having 2 – 3 years of experience in the field of surveillance/community mobilization. - Excellent communication skills ability to speak Pashto and Dari languages, English will be plus point. - Self-motivated, possessing persuasion skills, ability to maintain relationships, and able to work on own initiative. - Familiarity with the local province’s context, culture, traditions, and its sensitiveness - Good knowledge of MS office (mainly Outlook ,Word and Excel) - Strong communication skills: fluency in Dari and Pashto required, and good knowledge of spoken and written English desired - Ability to cope with stress, work under difficult circumstances, and meet deadlines - Flexibility and willingness to relocate at short notice, outside the normal area of operations, and for short periods of time (the position is 80% field base)
