Play for Peace (PfP) and Kikori (digital platform) are collaborating on a joint mission to transform lives by collaborating to curate, edit and upload hundreds of social-emotional and experiential learning activities into an interactive and searchable platform.
Technology is changing the world. Organizations that leverage the potential of technology have the opportunity to impact more people, more efficiently and effectively than ever before.
The PURPOSE of this collaboration is to use the power of mobile internet to provide more tools and training, increased connection, and improved data collection with Play for Peace at a scale not possible prior to implementation.
The OBJECTIVE of the content edited by Online Volunteers is the uploading of 250 social emotional learning activities immediately available, via the Kikori app, to 500 youth and adult educators in over 50 conflict areas in order to mitigate the devastating mental health effects that ongoing violence, war and the pandemic.
The Online Volunteers' CONTRIBUTIONS will support Play for Peace in achieving this objective, because we can't do it alone and with the diverse voices, experiences and expertise of the volunteers the activities themselves will be more representative of the global PFP communities.
As Online Volunteer, we provide a description of activities to edit and upload, necessary training, and a supportive team of mentors that will guide you. The activities will come from different sources (books, videos, spreadsheets, etc.) and it will be your job to transform the activity into one that fits the style guide, is tagged correctly, as well as has clear and concise instructions, reflection questions, variation tips and an overview for facilitators and educators.
Training will require at least one meeting with our team. After being trained, we expect that volunteers commit 1-3 hours of time a week, for at least two months, working independently and/or during our Thursday co-working zoom meetings.
