Launched in 2011, UNDP’s Gender Equality in Public Administration (GEPA) initiative aims to advance and mainstream women’s participation and leadership in the public sector and to accelerate progress on sustainable development and peace. Combining UNDP’s technical capacities on governance, peacebuilding and gender equality, the initiative has been developing cutting-edge evidence and data-based approaches to support gender equality in public life, with their partner, the University of Pittsburgh. One of the core assets managed by the UNDP initiative is the UNDP-OECD Framework for Assessing Gender Equality and Women’s Leadership in Public Life methodology. The tool consists of a rigorous and tested rubric for analyzing gender equality in the public sector and a number of standardized instruments to collect primary and secondary data (quantitative and qualitative) to input into the analysis. In the context of a partnership with UN DESA, on the Building Capacities for Promoting the Presence and Leadership of Women within Public Institutions at National and Local Levels project, national GEPA assessments are being carried out in four countries. We need support to translate one of the GEPA assessments from French to English.

We are looking for an Online Volunteer to translate a gender equality and public administration assessment document from French to English. The translation will be used globally, so the English language must be as universal as possible.

Good translation skills from French to English, with some knowledge about gender equality terms. Someone that is able to work at her/his own pace, responding to the agreed timelines.
