Overview

Assist in disseminating the online event through communication and knowledge management support.

You have:

  • 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role or field.
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in environmental science, communication, IT technologies or information management with focus on environmental management or a related field.
  • Additional studies or specific training in communication and project knowledge management is desired.
  • Experience with computer databases, web design, social media, and information systems.
  • Familiarity with the goals and procedures of international organizations, particularly those of the UN and EU.
  • Familiarity with waste management issues, circular economy, and problems of the Caribbean SIDS would be advantageous.
  • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management and office technology equipment.
  • Have affinity with or interest in environmental protection volunteerism as a mechanism for durable development, and the UN System.

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Regional Project Coordinator within the Project Coordination Unit (PCU), with the overall guidance of the Head, Caribbean SRO, the UNEP Regional Coordinator on Chemicals and Pollution, or his/her designated mandated representative(s), and the Regional Project Coordinator, and under the supervision of the Communication and Knowledge Management Expert, will seek the support of 2 Online Volunteers to support the area of communication and knowledge management to assist in the dissemination of the online event.

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Regional Project Coordinator within the Project Coordination Unit (PCU), with the overall guidance of the Head, Caribbean SRO, the UNEP Regional Coordinator on Chemicals and Pollution, or his/her designated mandated representative(s), and the Regional Project Coordinator, and under the supervision of the Communication and Knowledge Management Expert, the Online Volunteers will perform the following specific tasks:

  • (1) Online Volunteer with logistics experience will support and assist with event management activities. More specifically, he/she will liaise with stakeholders and persons engaged in work related to the implementation of the event (using the email of the project), he/she will assist the online tasks of the event (taking notes and managing the online platform).
  • (1) Online Volunteer with drafting experience will support in the creation of content for social media and press/media releases. The focus will be on the online dissemination of the event, he/she will assist in information exchange activities, the creation of awareness materials, such as social media contents and press/media releases, will be requested.

Required Experience: 3 years.
